2010 Was Great, 2011 Is Gonna Be Better!

altHappy New Year everyone! Wow, what a year we had in 2010. CFTWF has grown leaps and bounds beyond what I thought we would ever accomplish when the concept was born in the deserts of Kuwait back in 2003.

In 2010, we produced two documentaries, acquired two corporate sponsors, received a Google Grant, partnered with Flip Video, received three Telly Awards, were accepted by two film festivals, welcomed several new advisers to our team who have dedicated hundreds of hours to our efforts, launched a new website which to date  receives on average  over thirty-thousand hits a month. On top of all of this we filtered through dozens of submissions  and selected a new profile organization for 2011. whew...that's a LOT!

2011 looks to be just as busy as we take on our most challenging endeavor to date when we travel to the Himalayas.  CFTWF will spend six weeks in Nepal working with Himalayan HealthCare.   Fellow board member, Mike Palliola, our team dentist, Dr. Dave Reczek and I will be teaming up with HHC founder Anil Parajuli and his team to the very remote rural villages in the foothills of the Himalayas.  We face  a challenging journey which will encompass a thirty  hour flight to the other side of the planet, a  nine hour drive through rugged roads followed by a two day trek through the  mountain range just to get to the first site which HHC serves to  provide much needed medical care to the rural poor.
