In winning a Humanitarian award from the Best Shorts Film Competition, Caring For The World Films joins the ranks of other high-profile winners of this important award such as Oscar, Emmy and BAFTA winner Vanessa Redgrave for Eyes of St John, Oscar short list nominee Hanah Donegan for My Enemy, My Brother, as well as Linda Mills and Chelsea Clinton for their barrier breaking documentary Of Many.

“I am exceptionally honored to have CORNERSTONE continue to be recognized as a relevant film for Africa and especially proud that our peers recognize how elegantly the film captures the Nyaka story.” said Lang.

CORNERSTONE is the inspiring documentary film about the journey of Twesigye Jackson Kaguri, a humble immigrant living the American dream who leaves Columbia University to return home to Uganda to help his home village save a generation of children orphaned by HIV/AIDS.  The film, touches on Kaguri’s moving personal story, which inspired the creation of Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project.

Caring For The World Films has been honored with over two-dozen international awards for their humanitarian films documenting efforts in Honduras, Belize, Nepal and Uganda since 2007. This will be the 11th award for CORNERSTONE since its premiere on World AIDS Day in 2016.
